Shoe Review - Valentino Rockstud Ankle Boots

November 16, 2016

My trip to Saks continued with me trying on the Valentino Rockstud Ankle boots in pebble leather. When my size came out, I was a little bit unimpressed...size 39s are not as cute as the 36/7 on the floor, and with the leather was a little dull looking...didn't look luxurious enough for the price...these babies are $1375!!!! Generally, parts of a leather hyde can look and feel different, so you could get a pair of shoes that were not cut on the best part of the skin...but for an ankle boot that doesn't consume a huge amount of leather, and to be priced the way it is, I expected much more.  You pay a premium for these designer shoes because of the quality that you should get.  The toe shape was not as defined as I normally like, but when I put it on, I COMPLETELY changed my mind. The boots were comfortable enough and the studs definitely gave these that the edge it needed.  I love the fact that the boot opening fits closer to the leg so it doesn't have that "spoon in a cup" look that I hate. The heel height is 2.5" or 62mm...which is perfect for me.  I would prefer to catch these on sale at Saks  just because they are sooo expensive.  Do Valentinos even go on sale?  Look how cute the sketch of these boots are from the shoe box (I had to trace the lines so that you can actually see the sketch clearly)!  (Disclaimer: shoes fit everyone differently, however I have a pretty normal foot that tends to be on the narrow side.)
